Hi, I’m Kay—founder and maker behind Kay’s Organics in St. Louis, Missouri.
Before Kay’s Organics ever existed, I spent years in healthcare—more specifically in Emergency Medicine—working closely with people during some of their most vulnerable moments. That experience shaped me. It taught me the importance of trust, safety, and showing up with care, even when things aren’t perfect or polished.
Outside of work, I found peace in the garden—growing herbs, learning their traditional uses, drying, infusing, and experimenting at my own kitchen table. What began as a personal way to slow down and care for myself gradually became something friends and family started asking for—and eventually, something I felt called to share more widely.
During the COVID pandemic, I began making sugar scrubs for fellow ER staff—small comforts after long, exhausting shifts. What started as a simple act of care has since grown into something larger.
Today, I create small-batch products using thoughtfully chosen ingredients and time-honored herbal practices. Many of the botanicals used are grown, harvested, dried, or infused by hand from my own garden. When I cannot grow something myself, I source ingredients ethically and organically from trusted suppliers who share the same values of quality and transparency.
Every product is made with intention—never rushed, never mass-produced. I create products that support real life: recovery, self-care, and daily rituals that help you slow down and feel grounded
Kay’s Journey
I started Kay’s Organics because I believe people deserve skincare made with real ingredients and real intention. I’m Kay—an herbalist and formulator who makes every product in small batches, by hand, with care.
I’m particular about what goes into my formulas. The herbs, oils, butters, and essential oils I use come from trusted, ethical sources. I choose fair-trade, certified organic, and responsibly harvested ingredients because quality matters—and so does the impact behind each material. A good portion of the botanicals I use are ones I grow myself—plants I’ve tended, harvested, and worked with from start to finish.
When I need herbs or botanicals beyond what I grow, I buy from small, local businesses that share my values. Supporting local growers keeps the work close to home and ensures that every ingredient is handled with respect.
Kay’s Organics is simply my way of offering products that feel honest, clean, and rooted in the kind of care you can't rush. Everything I make reflects my belief in natural ingredients, transparency, and the steady, grounded work of creating something by hand.
